"The Old Book"
by James Hussey

I was looking through my attic last week searching for some papers
when I came across an old book. It was small about three inches
wide by four inches from top to bottom and about one inch thick.
Shuffling through the pages I noticed that it was composed of four
books or chapters. It seemed as if that it described the different levels
of matter and as they related to life.
Each book described the planes of existence of matter and its
connection with life. Starting with the most basic, the atoms or elements
and continuing up to mankind.
The first book pictured the elemental plane of existence the "Elements". It
pictured three spheres and a triangle. This picture depicted the atoms
as spheres and a triangle.
The second book was of the next higher plane of existence the "Mineral" life.
It pictured a Diamond which is the highest form of the mineral life. The mineral
life was higher than the elements because it contained the elements but with a
form of intelligence which caused the elements to organize or grow with a
pre-determined order to form crystals.
The third book was of still a higher order of existence the "Plant" life. Higher
than the two previous. The plant life was composed of the two previous levels
but  with more organization and was pictured as a "Tree" which has the ability
to reproduce itself.
The fourth and final book was that of the "Animal" life, the fourth plane of
existence. This picture was of a "Heart". The Animal life combined all of the
previous planes of existence plus  the attribute of animal intelligence and spirit.

Each book or chapter of the Old Book contained thirteen pages. The four
books of thirteen pages each combined for a total of fifty-two pages.
If one assigns one week to each page it completes one year of existence.

After careful study I discovered that this "Old Book" was no ordinary book.

How many things do we accept at face value?
