The New Orleans French Quarter and the surrounding region is famous for its plantations, riverboats lazy bayous and streetcars commonly called "trolley cars". This site shows numerous paintings of the French Quarter and surrounding area and historical buildings. The Cafe DuMonde a famous gathering place for local residents and visitors serves coffee and beignets (square donuts) coated with powdered sugar. The "J.M. White" steamboat is seen "sailing" the Mississippi.. The Delta Queen as seen from across the river from the city cruses up river showing the skyline in the distance with a hot air balloon flying high above, it's a Southern Jubilee . These paintings reflect the personal feelings in the nostalgic and romantic moods, settings, and history of the South.
